About the role
Crowe Soberman LLP, one of Canada’s premier independent chartered professional accounting firms, is seeking a proactive Senior Staff Accountant to join its Audit & Advisory team in mid‑town Toronto. The role involves managing multiple audit, review, compilation and tax engagements while delivering high‑quality client service.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and prepare time budgets for audit and review engagements and obtain manager or partner approval.
- Prepare financial statements with required notes and accompanying letters.
- Execute audit procedures in line with firm policies, Canadian Auditing Standards and GAAP, addressing high‑risk areas.
- Complete compilation and review engagements and supervise junior staff.
- Prepare corporate, personal, partnership and trust tax returns.
Required profile
- University degree and progress toward CPA/CA designation.
- At least two years of public practice experience with audit, review, compilation and tax engagements.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, CAS, CSRE 2400 and Canadian tax.
