Senior Staff Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established Canadian company in the promotional products and branded merchandise sector to find a Senior Staff Accountant for its finance team. This hands‑on, high‑impact position offers the chance to own detailed accounting tasks while contributing to broader operational finance projects, without direct people management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑cycle customer invoicing and billing accuracy
• Overseas vendor vouching and payable processing
• Intercompany transactions (invoicing + reconciliations)
• Month‑end support, including commission calculations
• Managing deposits and cash applications
• Reviewing open orders and discrepancies
• Supporting HST and U.S. sales tax filings
• Assisting with quarterly royalty reporting
• Cross‑training and backup support across A/R and A/P
• Participating in ad‑hoc projects and process improvements

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong understanding of A/P, A/R, invoicing, and reconciliations
• Experience in a product‑based, distribution, or multi‑entity environment (strong asset)
• Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, operational finance environment
