Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Platform

About the role

The Parallax Cloud team is building a high‑performance, globally distributed platform that powers real‑time connectivity for vehicles, mobile devices, and cloud services. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, implement, and operate core cloud services that enable low‑latency messaging and robust APIs at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain foundational cloud services for low‑latency, real‑time messaging worldwide.
• Own high‑throughput messaging systems such as NATS, handling upgrades, performance validation, capacity planning, and observability.
• Design and support gRPC/Protobuf APIs and client integrations with full telemetry.
• Lead infrastructure automation using Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and IaC tools like Terraform or Crossplane across all environments.
• Create production‑grade monitoring with Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana, defining dashboards, alerts, and SLO tracking.
• Configure and optimise reverse proxies and API gateways (NGINX, Envoy) for secure, reliable ingress and routing.
• Manage PKI and certificate pipelines to ensure secure authentication across multi‑environment deployments.
• Develop end‑to‑end, integration, and scaling test pipelines to verify performance and prevent regressions.
• Improve multi‑region reliability, cost efficiency, and support multi‑tenant expansion as the platform grows.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience focused on distributed systems, high‑scale backend services, or streaming architectures.
• Proven ability to design, operate, and scale low‑latency messaging and API platforms in a cloud environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on reliability, performance, and observability.
