Senior Software Engineer – B2B Platform (Remote, Canada)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of a large‑scale B2B e‑commerce platform. The role is remote‑first, based in Canada, and sits at the intersection of backend engineering, product innovation, and platform scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of major backend and platform initiatives, from design through deployment and iteration.
• Design, build, and maintain high‑quality backend services and APIs that enable team management, spend controls, reporting, and ordering workflows.
• Produce clear technical documentation, including design docs, architecture decisions, runbooks, and operational guidelines.
• Contribute directly to production codebases, conduct rigorous code reviews, and enforce best practices for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, monitor system health, and resolve production issues with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across teams to define requirements and deliver cohesive user experiences.
• Mentor and support other engineers, raising the technical bar and improving delivery velocity.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in e‑commerce, SaaS, or platform‑heavy organizations.
• Proven track record of building scalable backend systems in fast‑paced product environments.
• Strong ownership mindset and product intuition, comfortable across the full development lifecycle.
• Ability to thrive in high‑ambiguity settings with evolving priorities.
