Senior Software Developer – IoT

About the role

Join Armstrong Fluid Technology, a global leader in fluid‑flow innovation, as a Senior Software Developer focused on Internet of Things solutions. You will design and deliver secure, scalable IoT systems that integrate with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, supporting a worldwide network of manufacturing facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end IoT solutions on AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Build fault‑tolerant, high‑availability services that operate at large scale.
• Participate in the design and implementation of IoT edge devices and cloud infrastructure.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and design documents.
• Collaborate with software development, data analytics, and cybersecurity teams to deliver integrated IoT solutions.
• Stay current with emerging IoT and cloud technologies.
• Mentor developers on best practices and advise leadership on technical direction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; AWS/Azure certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years designing secure, scalable IoT solutions (industrial setting preferred) and at least 10 years overall software development experience.
• At least 2 years of AI software development experience.

Required skills

• AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including IoT services.
• IoT protocols: MQTT, CoAP, HTTP.
• Edge computing protocols: OPC UA, Modbus, BACnet, CAN bus.
• Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Microservice and serverless architectures.
• Message queues, Test‑Driven Development, AI‑driven software development.
