Senior Researcher - Physical AI

About the role

Work closely with a team of researchers and engineers to tackle real‑world challenges in Embodied AI and Spatial AI, bridging research and deployment. You will develop state‑of‑the‑art approaches for Physical AI, including robotic foundation models, world models, multimodal representation learning, reasoning, planning, imitation learning, reinforcement learning and low‑level control.

Key responsibilities

• Translate problem formulations and model designs into efficient, production‑ready code and iterate rapidly through experimentation.
• Design and run experiments on both simulation and real‑world robotic platforms, handling data collection, evaluation and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with research, infrastructure and robotics teams to close the loop between data, models and real‑world performance.
• Produce high‑impact research outputs such as patents and publications in top‑tier AI and robotics venues.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Robotics or a related field (or a Master’s with equivalent experience).
• Strong background in generative AI and sequence modeling, especially vision‑language or multimodal systems.
• Proven track record of first‑author papers in top venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICRA).
• Hands‑on experience with robotics systems, decision‑making, planning and control; experience with real robots or ROS is a plus.

Required skills

• Python
• PyTorch
• TensorFlow
• ROS
• Transformer‑based architectures
• Reinforcement learning
• Imitation learning

What we offer

• Target annual compensation ranging from $127,000 to $225,000 CAD, based on education, experience and expertise.
