Senior Project Manager – Underground, Earthworks & Utility Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead underground, earthworks and utility infrastructure projects for our northern Alberta operations based in Edmonton. You will work directly with clients and general contractors to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full project life cycle from conception to close‑out, providing accurate reporting on major deliverables.
• Develop and control project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to assign resources and supervise job‑site administration and clerical staff.
• Implement and enforce safety policies on‑site.
• Maintain professional relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Manage contract administration, proposals and negotiations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks while ensuring quality expectations are met.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience managing underground utility infrastructure and/or earthwork scopes.
• Proven ability to handle complex schedules and resources across multiple projects.
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong relationship‑building, communication, leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Expertise in budgeting, scheduling and risk management.
• Knowledge of construction regulations, standards and best practices.
