Senior Project Manager – IT Transformation (16‑month contract)

About the role

Our client, a leading technology services firm in Toronto, is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead a 16‑month, onsite engagement. The role will oversee complex, mission‑critical initiatives that span business transformation, design, development, implementation and integration of web‑based and cloud‑based solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive project scope, schedule, budget and deliverables for large‑scale IT transformation programs.
• Lead cross‑functional teams through Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
• Coordinate design, development, testing and deployment of web applications, micro‑services and APIs across Azure, OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
• Manage stakeholder communication, risk mitigation and issue resolution to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Utilize project management tools such as MS Project, Planview, Jira or Azure DevOps to track progress and report status.

Required profile

• 10+ years of project management experience delivering complex IT solutions.
• Proven track record leading Agile teams; Scrum Master certification preferred.
• Strong background in business transformation and integration of enterprise applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on results.

Required skills

• Full‑stack Java and/or Microsoft .Net development.
• Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
• Project management software: MS Project, Planview, Jira, Azure DevOps.
• Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Web application servers: Solaris, Red Hat, IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0+, IBM Cloud Pak.
• Design and integration of web‑based applications and APIs.
