Senior Project Coordinator

About the role

Matheson Constructors is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to support the delivery of large or multiple smaller construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will assist with administration, cost control, scheduling, quality, safety and overall project performance.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project reporting systems such as cost reports, file logs, submittal logs and change order logs.
• Assist with budget development, cost monitoring, progress billings and subcontract buyout processes.
• Support schedule development, track progress and provide updates on cost, schedule and safety performance.
• Coordinate contract administration, sub‑contract negotiations and monitor subcontractor compliance.
• Monitor safety reporting, participate in site inspections and help maintain quality control plans.
• Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, minutes and ensure follow‑up on action items.
• Participate in project closeout activities including documentation archiving and warranty administration.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• Previous project coordination experience with a mid‑to‑large general contractor, preferably in commercial, institutional or civil construction.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Viewpoint or other construction‑management software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.
