Senior Orbit Dynamics & Mission Analysis Engineer

About the role

This senior position leads the development of orbit dynamics and mission analysis for a variety of space missions, with full relocation support to Montreal. The role starts with remote work while immigration is processed, then transitions to onsite collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead advanced orbit dynamics and mission analysis tasks, designing satellite trajectories, maneuvers and constellation configurations.
• Architect and optimize trajectories using STK (Astrogator, Optimizer, Coverage, Comm) and custom tools.
• Develop high‑fidelity simulation models and analysis software in Python, MATLAB and/or C#.
• Perform specialized analyses such as coverage, link budgets, conjunction assessment, re‑entry prediction, orbit determination and attitude dynamics interactions.
• Define mission requirements, contribute to system architecture trade‑offs, and automate complex simulation workflows.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and present results to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aerospace, Astronautical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related field (or Bachelor’s with 9+ years relevant experience).
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in orbit dynamics, astrodynamics, trajectory optimization and space mission design.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency with Systems Tool Kit (STK) and its advanced modules, including automation via API or Connect.
• Advanced programming in Python and MATLAB; experience with C# and C/C++.
• Deep knowledge of orbital mechanics, perturbation theory, orbit determination and trajectory optimization methods.
• Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD practices and other simulation environments (GMAT, FreeFlyer, Orekit, SPICE).
