Senior Mission and Operations Satellite Systems Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mission and Operations Satellite Systems Engineer will join the System Engineering Department to lead the analysis, planning and definition of constellation operations concepts of operations (ConOps). The role involves preparing, testing and executing operational procedures for satellite missions, with an initial remote period followed by onsite work in Montreal.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct trade‑off studies and design the overall Satellite LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) plan.
• Develop, validate and oversee execution of Spacecraft In‑Orbit Operations Procedures, manuals and test scripts.
• Create Verification & Validation matrices for commissioning, routine and contingency operations.
• Support In‑Orbit Test activities, anomaly resolution and Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR).
• Participate in ICD development for hardware and software, and integrate tools into the Operations DevOps environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of practical experience with LEO/MEO satellite systems and mission design.
• Proven experience in automated satellite operations and systems engineering for space and ground segments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Python or other scripting languages.
• MATLAB.
• AGI Systems Tool Kit (STK).
• MS Excel for engineering analyses.
• Requirements management tools such as DOORS, Windchill or Jama.
• Satellite simulator operation and script development.
