Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Armstrong Fluid Technology you will lead the optimisation of production processes, drive lean initiatives and support new product introductions across a global manufacturing network.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times and eliminate bottlenecks.
• Implement technical upgrades and sustainable practices that boost productivity, product quality and throughput.
• Lead value‑stream analysis, coordinate shop‑floor hand‑offs and support daily triage reporting to meet on‑time delivery goals.
• Review engineering drawings, sign off changes in PDM and participate in Engineering Change Review Board meetings.
• Collaborate with technical, quality, procurement and production teams to resolve complex issues and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Drive lean manufacturing activities such as 5S, Kaizen, cycle‑time measurement and integration of automation technologies.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing technology, including 5 years in fabrication engineering and welding.
• 5+ years of Lean manufacturing experience, preferably leading Lean promotion.
• Experience in pump assembly or related fluid‑system industries is preferred.

Required skills

• Large‑assembly processes, painting, welding and testing.
• Design of fixtures and tooling; proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC), root‑cause analysis and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and 5S methodologies.
• Integration of automation technologies; familiarity with Infor ERP (LN 10.7).
