Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives

About the role

Ontario Power Generation is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager to lead strategic initiatives within its Renewable Generation division. The role focuses on enhancing work management, conduct of operations, and maintenance programs across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement of Work Management, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance programs.
• Develop, track, and report KPIs for program performance, work protection, and corrective actions.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams (Eastern, Western, Niagara Operations, EHS, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering) and external partners.
• Project‑manage high‑impact initiatives, including negotiations with vendors and industry associations.
• Prepare monthly briefing materials and analysis for senior leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Align strategic planning with Corporate Strategy, Finance, Business Development, and Regulatory Affairs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field, or a College Diploma in Technology.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in operations, maintenance, or business development, preferably in hydroelectric or similar industries.
• Strong interpersonal and political acumen when dealing with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated integrity and commitment to corporate values and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience using business intelligence platforms, specifically Power BI.
