Senior Manager Contracts

About the role

Purolator is seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to lead its supplier‑contracting function. The Senior Manager, Contracts will operate at the intersection of Operations, Network, IT, and Legal, overseeing buy‑side commercial agreements that support the company’s transportation, facilities, equipment, and technology needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, negotiation and execution of complex buy‑side contracts, including transportation services, technology, equipment and infrastructure arrangements.
• Provide pragmatic, business‑focused legal advice that balances legal, operational and financial considerations.
• Manage intake, prioritisation and delivery of commercial legal work across the organisation.
• Partner with Operations, IT and Procurement to support supplier and infrastructure initiatives.
• Maintain ownership of legal judgment, contract structure and risk positions.
• Mentor and develop legal professionals, allocating work based on complexity, risk and priorities.
• Identify and implement improvements to contracting processes, templates and playbooks.
• Contribute to broader Legal initiatives aimed at improving visibility, planning and alignment with the business.

Required profile

• LL.B. or J.D. and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• 7+ years of post‑call experience in commercial and corporate law.
• Demonstrated experience with complex supplier, infrastructure or operational commercial arrangements.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain or technology is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead complex matters independently in fast‑paced environments.
• Experience mentoring, coaching and coordinating legal teams.
