Senior Manager – Category Management (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead Category Management for The Beer Store on a 22‑month contract. Reporting to the Director of Brand and Communications, you will shape the retail category strategy, combining consumer and shopper insights with internal data to create a playbook for assortment, categorisation and promotional space across in‑store and online channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen the Category Management Playbook to support short‑ and long‑term growth strategies.
• Identify trends and themes within the beer and adjacent beverage categories to inform tactical initiatives.
• Monitor consumer and shopper data, translate insights into actionable recommendations and share them with key stakeholders.
• Communicate data‑driven narratives that guide business strategy and planning.
• Track key performance indicators, analyse results and propose proactive solutions to exceed targets.
• Drive merchandising and planogram strategies to ensure customer‑centric store layouts while balancing current needs with future vision.
• Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure feasible execution of category plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in category management or a related retail analytics role.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into strategic insights.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Enterprise‑level understanding of logistics and operational considerations.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle; willingness to travel up to 10 % of the time.
