Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Traffic Engineering

About the role

Join the team that builds and operates the critical infrastructure powering Amazon's retail platform. You will work on advanced machine‑learning systems and distributed infrastructure at massive scale, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for millions of daily customer interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and cross‑functional teams to launch best‑in‑class solutions.
• Drive operational excellence by improving performance, monitoring, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex problems and implement industry‑leading fixes.
• Mentor, teach, and grow other engineers while continuously learning.

Required profile

• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one software language.
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader.
• Strong background in Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals, including architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and model execution optimization.
• Preferred: 5+ years full software development life‑cycle experience, knowledge of ML model architecture and inference, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
