Senior Java Software Engineer – Decision Management

About the role

Mastercard’s Decision Management program builds intelligent, real‑time decision‑making services that help prevent fraud on every transaction. As a Senior Software Engineer you will mentor the team while staying hands‑on, developing high‑performance Java applications in Vancouver.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement application logic in Java.
• Write unit, integration and functional tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Participate in all Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with teammates to meet project goals.
• Lead customer‑impact incidents, conduct post‑mortems and implement preventive actions.
• Work with stakeholders and platform teams to resolve dependencies and deliver commitments.

Required profile

• Strong programming expertise in Java and the Spring framework.
• Experience with high‑performance applications and Oracle SQL.
• Proficiency in unit‑testing and mocking tools (JUnit, Mockito or EasyMock).
• Excellent problem‑diagnostic and creative problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and data‑analysis skills.
