Senior IT Business Analyst (Insurance)

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Senior IT Business Analyst to support its Affinity & Program business in Canada, working in a hybrid role with at least three days a week in the office. The role sits within a cross-regional team focused on program renewals and new business, and is a replacement position.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and document detailed requirements with business stakeholders, focusing on Program Policy renewals.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for client application data capture, policy rating and document/report generation (quotes, policy packages, bordereaux, certificates of insurance).
• Communicate requirements to Development and QA teams via the ADO ticketing system, tracking and prioritizing tickets.
• Use data analysis tools to support client and application data migration into the Brokering System (Velocity).
• Develop test data and test cases for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate UAT with business users and the COE Call Centre team.
• Create process maps showing current workflows and proposed future-state changes.
• Run functional and system integration testing and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage client and end-user communications and generate reports tracking renewal completion metrics.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Senior IT Business Analyst managing Program Renewals end-to-end.
• Experience in the commercial insurance industry, with advanced knowledge of insurance and brokerage operations and a strong background in program business operations.
• Familiarity with and adherence to change management processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience delivering end-user training alongside business partners.
• Strong self-management and organizational skills.
• Bilingual French and English is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP and complex functions.
• Data analysis, manipulation, extraction and merging.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database management.
• Direct experience with insurance program policy renewals and Broker Management Systems, especially Velocity, is a strong advantage.
