Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Kindred is seeking a world‑class Platform Engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and backend systems. You will lead the design and operation of a scalable AWS platform that powers a fast‑growing consumer travel product. This role offers the chance to shape infrastructure strategy for a high‑growth, venture‑backed startup.

Key responsibilities

• Own cloud architecture decisions, platform strategy, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code implementation.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS services that enable rapid product development.
• Develop internal tools, automation scripts, and backend services to boost developer productivity.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to ensure infrastructure meets current needs and scales for future growth.
• Establish best practices, mentor engineers, and drive observability, monitoring, and incident response standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles.
• Proven track record leading infrastructure initiatives and making critical architectural decisions.
• Experience at a high‑growth stage company.
• Strong judgment balancing cost, performance, security, and velocity.
• Excellent communication and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, VPC, IAM, etc.).
• Python and JavaScript/TypeScript programming.
• Docker and Kubernetes containerization.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and management.
• Observability tools for monitoring, logging, and incident response.
