Senior Information Security Advisor, Cyber Security

About the role

OPTrust is seeking a Senior Information Security Advisor to strengthen its cyber security posture. Reporting to the Manager, Cyber Security, you will protect information system assets, develop security standards and respond to incidents in a hybrid Toronto environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, threat intelligence and infrastructure anomalies, and respond to incidents promptly.
• Analyze vulnerability alerts, compile and test exploit code, and support remediation efforts.
• Participate in both planned and ad‑hoc incident response activities.
• Conduct vulnerability scans of applications, systems and databases, providing guidance to technical and management teams.
• Evaluate emerging threats and recommend counter‑measures.
• Lead corporate security patch management and ensure compliance with technology governance frameworks.
• Develop and implement security policies, standards and procedures.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in information security and cyber‑risk management.
• Proven ability to improve an organization’s security posture.
• Experience working within a governance and control framework.
• Strong analytical skills for threat and vulnerability assessment.
