Senior Health & Safety Advisor – Western Canada

About the role

Egis is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join its Western Canada team. The position supports engineering and construction projects across Alberta and British Columbia, offering a blend of field engagement and corporate safety leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior‑level health and safety advisory to engineering and construction oversight teams.
• Lead complex incident investigations, conduct root‑cause analysis and develop systemic corrective actions.
• Advise project teams on hazard identification, risk assessment and control strategies for diverse engineering projects.
• Support regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions and lead audits, inspections and assurance activities.
• Prepare and manage client and contractor H&S pre‑qualification submissions.
• Maintain safety records, dashboards, compliance trackers and audit evidence.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of H&S programs, policies and procedures.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive health and safety experience, preferably in multi‑disciplinary or consulting environments.
• Proven ability to operate independently and balance technical and administrative priorities.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent written communication skills for reports to leaders, clients and regulators.
