Senior Fund Accountant - Private Markets

About the role

MUFG Investor Services, which provides asset servicing solutions to the global investment management industry, is hiring a Senior Fund Accountant for its Private Markets (Private Debt) team in Toronto. Reporting to the Associate Director of Client Operations, the role covers accounting and financial reporting for private debt funds, including reviewing financial statements, analysing transactions, ensuring compliance, mentoring junior staff and collaborating with other departments. The position is listed as hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reconciliations of cash, positions and accruals of client funds managed within the team
• Price portfolios so that all holdings are priced in line with fund documents and valuation policies
• Calculate and allocate capital calls and distributions
• Prepare fee schedules, including management fees and waterfalls, in line with fund documents
• Prepare investor allocations for each NAV cycle so that capital transactions and P&L are booked and allocated correctly
• Prepare NAV packages and other ad hoc deliverables defined in the service level agreements
• Complete other ad hoc requests and projects
• Communicate with internal MUFG teams and external clients and meet their requests
• Prepare audited financial statements, audits and other regulatory services as applicable

Required profile

• At least 3 years' experience in fund administration, ideally in private equity or real estate
• University degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Understanding of basic private equity or real estate operations
• Experience working with Investran is preferred
