Senior Fund Accountant, Private Equity

About the role

MUFG Investor Services, a division of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, supports the day-to-day administration and financial reporting needs of its Private Equity clients. This is a full-time, hybrid position in Toronto filling an existing vacancy. The role covers fund administration, consolidation, expense processing, NAV preparation and investor communications.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial data received from Private Equity clients and load it into internal accounting systems.
• Assist with setting up, preparing and reviewing consolidations through the investment structure using various consolidation rules.
• Process payment of fund expenses in the applicable banking system.
• Book journal entries related to cash payments and accruals.
• Prepare third-party reconciliations of investments and cash.
• Prepare capital call and distribution calculations and notices.
• Prepare fee schedules, including management fees and carried interest, in line with fund documents.
• Prepare investor allocations for each NAV cycle so that capital transactions and P&L are booked correctly.
• Prepare NAV packages and other ad hoc deliverables defined in the service level agreements.
• Collaborate with clients, banks, auditors and other third parties to ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• At least a few years' experience in Financial Accounting, Fund Accounting or Audit.
• Private Equity or Private Debt experience is preferred but not essential.
• CPA, ACCA or CA qualification is an advantage.
