Senior Frontend Software Engineer – Remote (Canada)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Frontend Software Engineer to own the modernization and ongoing development of Bridge’s core learning platform. The role is fully remote within Canada and involves close collaboration with product, design and backend teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ship new features, fix complex bugs and modernize legacy code in a large mission‑critical application.
• Design and maintain a micro‑frontend architecture spanning 20+ apps.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers and backend engineers to deliver end‑to‑end functionality.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Strong frontend fundamentals with deep production experience in React and TypeScript.
• Commitment to accessibility (WCAG) and internationalization from the start.
• “No‑fear” attitude when tackling undocumented or messy codebases.
• Ability to think abstractly about large, under‑documented monoliths.
• Polyglot background and direct communication style.

Required skills

• React (v19) and TypeScript.
• Micro‑frontend architecture and module federation.
• State management with TanStack Query and React Context.
• Testing tools: Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, MSW, Storybook.
• Accessibility standards (WCAG), internationalization, Core Web Vitals performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Java/Kotlin Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, Apache Pulsar, Debezium, AWS Neptune, AWS OpenSearch.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions, monitoring with Datadog, infrastructure as code with Terraform.
