Senior Financial Analyst – Interior Health

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Faculty of Medicine’s activities across the Interior Health region. This fixed‑term position will work closely with the Regional Associate Dean, Interior, and a network of clinicians, educators, and researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse and report on budgets, forecasts and financial performance for medical education and research programs.
• Collaborate with Interior Health partners to ensure compliance with university and provincial financial policies.
• Develop financial models to support strategic decision‑making and resource allocation.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, audit documentation and funding proposals.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis for senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in financial analysis, budgeting and reporting, preferably in a health‑care or academic environment.
• Strong understanding of Canadian public‑sector financial regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse clinical and academic teams.
