Senior Field Service Technician - Electrification

About the role

ABB's Electrification Service division is looking for a Senior Field Service Technician in Saint-Laurent. The role delivers high-quality technical services for electrical distribution infrastructure, ensuring that complex service projects on high-, medium- and low-voltage systems are executed safely, efficiently and profitably. It combines technical expertise, customer engagement and business acumen.

Key responsibilities

• Perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades and installations on switchgear, transformers, protective relays and control systems.
• Plan and execute service projects end to end, in line with safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Use electrical system diagnostics and protective relaying expertise to fix complex issues and improve system performance and reliability.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs, recommend tailored solutions and build long-term relationships.
• Identify new service opportunities that fit customer needs and company strategy.

Required profile

• Diploma or university degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining high-, medium- and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English; English is required to serve customers outside Quebec.
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally (about 20%), work overtime and respond to service calls outside normal hours.
• Knowledge of ABB Electrification products or comparable products from other manufacturers.

Required skills

• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, including reading electrical schematics and technical procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical safety practices, industry standards and environmental regulations.
