Senior Family Lawyer – Family Law & Litigation

About the role

Our client, a respected full‑service law firm in Coquitlam, is seeking a Senior Family Lawyer / Associate Counsel to lead and expand its Family Law Group. The role focuses on high‑value family law matters while offering the chance to manage a broader litigation practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex family law litigation from consultation through trial and appeal.
• Represent clients in Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
• Conduct mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and other dispute‑resolution processes.
• Advise on parenting, guardianship, relocation, support, property division, high‑net‑worth matters, and trust issues.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies for civil, commercial, estate, employment, shareholder, real‑estate, and construction disputes.
• Build and maintain client relationships and referral networks.
• Contribute to business development and mentor junior lawyers.

Required profile

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
• Minimum 8 + years post‑call experience with significant family law litigation exposure.
• Proven ability to manage complex family law files independently.
• Strong courtroom advocacy experience in both Provincial and Supreme Court.
• Established client base or portable book of business preferred.
• Additional experience in civil, commercial, estate, employment, shareholder, real‑estate, or construction litigation is a plus.
