Senior Executive – Corporate Development (Remote, Canada)

About the role

This senior‑level corporate development role is focused on sourcing and advancing merger‑and‑acquisition opportunities within the software sector. Based in Canada and operating on a flexible, part‑time remote schedule, you will act as the primary external face of a leading software acquirer, building relationships with founders, owners and senior executives to identify and evaluate potential acquisitions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, research and build a pipeline of software companies that meet the firm’s acquisition criteria.
• Conduct targeted outreach to founders, owners and senior leaders to initiate high‑quality M&A conversations.
• Develop trust‑based relationships by understanding business goals, motivations and exit considerations.
• Maintain ongoing engagement with prospects, nurturing long‑term opportunities and moving deals forward.
• Translate initial discussions into qualified acquisition targets and support their progression toward closing.
• Perform rapid assessments of companies and leadership teams to tailor outreach and improve effectiveness.
• Accurately record all outreach activity, interactions and pipeline updates in the CRM system.

Required profile

• Strong background in business, finance, corporate development, consulting or related fields with a proven record of high performance.
• Deep understanding of M&A processes, valuation methods and business exit strategies.
• Exceptional relationship‑building and communication abilities, capable of quickly establishing trust with senior stakeholders.
• Highly curious, resilient and results‑oriented with a consultative mindset.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to CRM usage.

Required skills
