Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Maplesoft Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a hybrid team in Ottawa for a 12‑month fixed‑term assignment. The role focuses on building and maintaining automated delivery pipelines, containerised workloads, and Azure‑based infrastructure to support critical government applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop scripts and pipelines for release processes, managing environments and deployments.
• Resolve complex operational issues by leveraging deep knowledge of business applications and underlying infrastructure.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, tool adoption, and best‑practice implementation.
• Support scrum teams by troubleshooting technical problems and sharing expertise.
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Design, develop, and deploy containerised applications for portability and scalability.
• Deploy and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) solutions, integrating with Azure services.
• Utilise GitHub for version control, collaboration, and code management.
• Manage health, scaling, and performance of Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades and patching.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject‑matter experts to meet project goals and best practices.

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma in computer science, software development, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in application development and systems integration.
• At least 7 years of hands‑on DevOps and CI/CD experience, including DevSecOps, version control, artifact management, and build pipelines.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure services and solutions.
• Proven track record of automating processes and supporting enterprise‑scale systems.
