Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and optimise hybrid cloud infrastructure for the Ontario Government. The role involves end‑to‑end responsibility for cloud platforms, automation, CI/CD pipelines, security compliance and release management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain hybrid infrastructure across Azure, AWS, SaaS, COTS and on‑premises systems.
• Build and support secure cloud environments for enterprise digital products.
• Develop, administer and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
• Monitor performance, reliability, capacity and security across cloud environments.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and deployment issues.
• Coordinate release schedules, deployment activities, rollback procedures and post‑release validation.
• Implement audit logging, monitoring and compliance controls.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, DevOps and application teams to enforce standards.
• Document technical procedures, release processes and operational controls.
• Mentor junior team members on DevOps best practices and audit readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating hybrid cloud environments in large‑scale organisations.
• Strong hands‑on background with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
• Deep knowledge of Linux environments and containerisation technologies.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Familiarity with enterprise security compliance and audit requirements.
