About the role
TD Legal is seeking a Senior Counsel to lead wealth litigation matters across the enterprise. The role provides strategic and tactical legal advice, works closely with business units, and manages complex litigation portfolios.
Key responsibilities
- Manage external counsel throughout all levels of Canadian courts and develop resolution strategies.
- Identify key legal risks, propose mitigation tactics, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Deliver best‑in‑class litigation advice aligned with business objectives and enterprise‑wide risk policies.
- Oversee a portfolio of regulatory matters and support other legal department members.
- Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to special projects as needed.
Required profile
- Senior‑level legal professional with extensive experience in wealth litigation.
- Proven ability to provide strategic counsel and influence business decisions.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external partners.
- Experience managing external counsel and regulatory matters.
