Senior AI Code Modernization Developer

About the role

Bentley Systems is looking for a Senior AI Code Modernization Developer to join a global AI expert team. The role focuses on building AI‑driven pipelines that automatically convert legacy or academic code into cloud‑native services and applications, while supporting and mentoring other developers across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Create and monitor an AI code modernization pipeline.
• Develop tools and automation that enable the team’s AI‑focused workflow.
• Design rigorous test suites to verify the accuracy of converted code.
• Conduct continuous research to improve AI workflows and maintain best‑in‑class automated conversion.
• Track conversion speed, cost, and quality, optimizing trade‑offs as needed.
• Provide training and educational resources for developers on AI modernization topics.

Required profile

• Proven experience building pipelines and delivering cloud services.
• Strong interest in applying AI to software development and code transformation.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a results‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to quickly research new topics and learn independently.
• Experience breaking down complex systems for analysis.
• Background designing, deploying, and operating cloud‑native services, especially for legacy or compute‑intensive workloads.

Required skills

• Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) knowledge.
• Container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Istio.
• Fortran experience in production or research environments.
• Web technology familiarity.
• Application security and cloud security fundamentals.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) concepts.
