Senior Accountant – Toronto

About the role

Our client, a growing natural resources company in downtown Toronto, is seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant. The role offers broad exposure to day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting and project accounting in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS and support public company reporting, including regulatory filings and MD&A.
• Prepare audit documentation and coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
• Perform full‑cycle accounting for multiple entities: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and month‑end close.
• Maintain the general ledger, process AP/AR, manage vendor payments and employee expenses.
• Support cash management, banking activities and intercompany transactions.
• Track project costs, assist with budgeting and forecasting, reconcile expenditures and maintain documentation for capital assets and construction‑in‑progress.
• Prepare financial analyses and schedules for senior leadership, the board and ad‑hoc finance requests.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS; public company reporting experience is a plus.
• Experience in multi‑entity environments and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Base salary $85,000–$100,000 plus bonus and benefits.
