Senior Accountant

About the role

This senior accountant position is with a well‑established CPA firm in St. Catharines. You will act as a trusted advisor, overseeing a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses and providing expertise across accounting, audit, and tax.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve client work files, including compilations, reviews, audits, and tax returns.
• Manage client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for decision‑making.
• Supervise and review the work of junior staff, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with partners and senior CPAs on complex engagements.
• Maintain accurate working papers and documentation using industry‑standard software.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience.
• Hands‑on experience with compilations, reviews, audits, and tax engagements.
• Strong file‑review and working‑paper preparation skills.
• Comfortable managing client relationships and guiding staff.
• Dependable, approachable, and commercially minded.
