Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for multiple restaurant, franchising, Canadian and U.S. entities within a fast‑growing quick‑service restaurant group. You will be responsible for full‑cycle accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely information for business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting for several entities, including month‑end and quarter‑end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements with variance analysis and explanatory notes.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Coordinate payroll processing across multiple companies and remit statutory deductions.
• Handle GST/HST filings, income tax payable calculations and transfer‑pricing schedules.
• Support year‑end audit with a Big 4 firm, preparing working papers and responding to queries.
• Maintain accounts payable, vendor invoices, credit‑card reconciliations and employee expense reports.

Required profile

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in restaurant, retail, franchise or multi‑entity environments.
• Strong understanding of full‑cycle accounting, payroll and tax compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
