Security Systems Technician

About the role

Met-Scan Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Security Systems Technician to join its North York team. You will provide on‑site installation, maintenance, and repair of alarm and CCTV systems for commercial and residential clients.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, test, calibrate, and repair electronic security equipment, including alarms and CCTV cameras.
• Install and align electronic components, read blueprints, and work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Complete work orders, generate test and maintenance reports, and supervise junior technicians.
• Diagnose circuit faults and replace defective parts using hand and power tools.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in security system installation and repair.
• Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Physical capability to lift up to 45 kg, bend, crouch, and work at heights.
• Valid driver’s licence, clean driving record, and willingness to travel with a company‑provided vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and calibration equipment.
• Experience using MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Windows).
• Knowledge of networking security and programming software for system integration.
• Familiarity with security system hardware, CCTV, and alarm system components.
