Security Oversight Consultant (Surveillance de la sécurité)

About the role

The Security Oversight Consultant will join the Payroll Service Center’s (PSC) security and fraud management team. Reporting to the Director of Security and Fraud Management, the role focuses on overseeing security operations, fraud monitoring, incident support, and embedding security into projects across a leading Canadian payroll provider.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) – monitor alerts using SIEM, DLP, WAF, EDR, phishing and dark‑web tools, and coordinate with managed service providers.
• Develop and refine security metrics, dashboards and continuous monitoring processes.
• Lead anti‑fraud monitoring in line with FINTRAC and Bank of Canada regulations, creating fraud alerts and reporting dashboards.
• Support incident management activities, including investigations, containment, corrective actions and post‑incident analysis.
• Provide security guidance for projects – asset classification, risk analysis, security recommendations, testing coordination and vulnerability tracking.

Required profile

• Degree in risk management, cybersecurity, computer science or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in risk management or cybersecurity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
• Ability to work independently, organise workload effectively and build relationships with technical and non‑technical teams.
