Seasonal Drop Technician (Fiber Installation)

About the role

Join Execulink Telecom as a Seasonal Drop Technician and help bring high‑speed fibre services directly to customers across Thedford, Burgessville and surrounding areas. You will work outdoors, troubleshoot in real time, and gain hands‑on experience with the latest telecommunications equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Test fibre optic lines using an OTDR.
• Perform fibre jetting and splicing for drop cables, with occasional assistance on trunk and distribution lines.
• Hand‑dig service fibre cables and operate fibre plowing and burial equipment safely on customer premises.
• Create detailed site‑survey maps to support drop burial planning.
• Coordinate with contractors, schedulers and peers to track progress and resolve issues.
• Travel frequently across the coverage area and conduct on‑site visits.
• Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles, performing preventative maintenance as required.
• Adhere to the company health and safety program at all times.

Required profile

• Clear background check.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and lift equipment up to 50 lb.
• Physical stamina for hand digging, trench work and working on uneven terrain.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed.
