Satellite EPS Design Engineer – Montreal (Full Relocation)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power System Engineer to design, analyze, verify and integrate EPS for remote‑sensing and communications satellites. The role works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑performance, reliable power solutions for commercial, government and defense customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define EPS architecture, perform trade‑studies and generate system requirements and interface documents.
• Size solar arrays, power‑conditioning units, batteries and distribution units; build and validate electrical models and conduct power‑budget and survivability analyses.
• Coordinate with spacecraft bus teams, present technical status to senior management, and develop high‑fidelity power models and optimisation tools for mission analysis.
• Author verification plans, support ground‑test and integration campaigns, analyse test data and update design baselines.
• Mentor junior engineers, act as technical liaison with customers and vendors, and contribute to process improvements and standards.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace or Physics with 8+ years EPS design experience on LEO/MEO platforms.
• Deep knowledge of spacecraft bus subsystems, power‑electronics design and aerospace system engineering fundamentals.
• Hands‑on individual capable of supporting integration, testing and problem resolution with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English; French considered an asset.
