Satellite Bus Platform System Engineer – Montreal (Full Relocation)

About the role

We are looking for a Satellite Bus / Platform System Engineer to lead the definition, design, integration, verification and on‑orbit support of spacecraft bus subsystems for remote‑sensing and communications missions. The position offers full relocation assistance and an initial remote work period while immigration is processed, before moving to an onsite role in Montreal.

Key responsibilities

• Translate mission‑level requirements into system requirements and allocate them across platform subsystems (structures, thermal, power, GNC, propulsion, C&DH, TT&C/PDT, flight software).
• Lead trade studies and detailed design of all major bus subsystems, produce architecture documents, ICDs and design descriptions.
• Perform FMEA, fault‑tree analysis, reliability and availability predictions, and maintain performance budgets.
• Author verification plans, coordinate structural, thermal‑vacuum, acoustic and power tests, and support flight‑software integration.
• Mentor junior engineers, manage interface control documents, and act as technical liaison with customers and vendors.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Physics or related field with 10+ years of spacecraft bus system design experience (LEO/MEO/GEO).
• Proven ability to work independently, manage requirements traceability and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English; French is a plus.
