Sales Attendant – Food Services (Temporary)

About the role

This temporary, full‑time position provides coverage for a maternity leave within UBC Okanagan Food Services. The successful candidate will work an average of 35 hours per week, primarily at the Starbucks outlet but may be scheduled across any campus food‑service location as operational needs dictate.

Key responsibilities

• Serve customers in various food‑service settings, including cafés, retail outlets and residence dining areas.
• Take payments accurately and handle cash or electronic transactions.
• Prepare food and beverages according to outlet standards (e.g., Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Subway).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.
• Perform additional duties as required by the Food Services Manager.

Required profile

• Grade 10 or equivalent education and a valid Food Safe Level 1 certificate.
• At least one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to complete any specialized training required for specific outlets.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and work across multiple locations.

Required skills

• Food Safe Level 1 certification.
