Safety Officer – Part‑Time Project (6‑9 months)

About the role

The Lillooet Tribal Council (LTC) has completed a safety audit and is launching a 6‑9‑month project to implement recommended safety measures. The role focuses on improving incident and hazard reporting, new‑worker orientation, joint health‑safety committee processes, workplace violence prevention, working‑alone procedures, and emergency response management.

Key responsibilities

• Join the LTC Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee as a management representative and work with committee members to address gaps identified in the safety audit.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and templates for incident and hazard reporting, new‑worker orientation, workplace violence prevention, working‑alone procedures, and emergency response management.
• Collaborate with the LTC Administrator and other staff to ensure policies align with regulatory requirements and cultural considerations.

Required profile

• Qualified individuals with experience in occupational health and safety.
• Preference will be given to applicants of St’át’imc or Aboriginal ancestry.
• Ability to work 1‑2 days per week on‑site for the duration of the project.
