Risk Analyst Intern – Enterprise Risk Governance & Transformation (Winter 2027)

About the role

Join EQ Bank’s Risk Transformation Office for a winter internship (January‑April 2027). Reporting to the Director of Risk Reporting, you will support Enterprise Risk Governance & Transformation, focusing on risk reporting and AI‑enabled process improvement. You will help prepare risk reports, work with data, support automation opportunities, and assist with governance and transformation activities across Enterprise Risk.

Key responsibilities

• Identify recurring reporting and governance tasks that can be accelerated with AI or automation, and help build, test, document, and maintain AI agents, prompt libraries, and workflow automations.
• Support monthly and quarterly enterprise risk reporting by running SQL extracts, transforming and validating data, reconciling results, and preparing information for reports and presentations using Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
• Conduct ad‑hoc risk analytics, analyze portfolio or business data, and produce concise charts, presentations and summaries for stakeholder requests.
• Assist enterprise risk initiatives and transformation activities by preparing analysis, briefing materials, coordinating inputs from multiple teams, and maintaining governance dashboards and documentation.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in finance, accounting, commerce, applied mathematics, statistics, engineering or computer science.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI tools, building simple AI agents or automated workflows, and writing effective prompts.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SQL and Power BI is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn analysis into clear summaries and recommendations.
• Organized, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.
