Retail Team Lead

About the role

Roots is seeking a Retail Team Lead to bridge the gap between store management and sales associates. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will support daily operations, motivate the team, and ensure an exceptional in‑store experience for customers and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store and Assistant Managers with operational duties and provide coverage during absences.
• Model best‑in‑class selling and customer service behaviours on the floor.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and inventory tasks.
• Delegate tasks, oversee break schedules, and maintain efficient store operations.
• Coach associates on product knowledge, customer service fundamentals, and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement action plans that drive sales and productivity.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail apparel environment (luxury experience a plus).
• Proven ability to lead a sales team and be recognized as a peer leader.
• Experience with POS management, daily banking procedures, and timely reporting.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.
• Self‑motivated, collaborative, and flexible to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
