About the role
Pumpernickel's is looking for a friendly and reliable cashier to join its fast‑food restaurant in downtown Toronto. You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling transactions quickly and accurately in a busy environment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate the electronic cash register and Interac machine to process payments.
- Tabulate total payments for goods and services and receive cash, card, or Interac payments.
- Greet customers, provide courteous service, and answer basic inquiries.
- Wrap or bag merchandise, stock shelves, and keep the counter area clean.
- Maintain attention to detail while working under pressure and standing for extended periods.
Required profile
- Accurate and dependable with strong oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Team player who can stand for long periods and handle multiple tasks.
Required skills
- Proficiency with an electronic cash register.
- Experience using an Interac machine for card transactions.
