Restaurant Assistant Manager

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Assistant Manager to support daily operations at our busy restaurant in Ottawa. You will work closely with the restaurant manager to ensure smooth service, high quality food, and excellent customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Determine service offerings and implement operational procedures.
• Balance cash, complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms.
• Conduct performance reviews and supervise a team of 16‑20 staff members.
• Cost products and services, organize and maintain inventory, and order supplies and equipment.
• Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies.
• Participate in marketing plans and implementation.
• Address customer complaints and provide outstanding customer service.
• Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure health and safety compliance.
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations.
