Restaurant Assistant Manager

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Restaurant Assistant Manager to support daily operations at Casa di Moni Café and Gelato in Ottawa. The role combines hands‑on supervision with strategic planning to ensure smooth service and a welcoming environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor revenues and calculate labour costs to optimise profitability.
• Plan, organise and oversee daily restaurant operations.
• Recruit, schedule and supervise staff, conducting performance reviews.
• Define service offerings and implement operational procedures.
• Maintain inventory, cost products and services, and ensure health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Address customer complaints and provide high‑quality customer service.

Required profile

• College‑level certificate or diploma (3 months to < 1 year).
• 1–2 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality management.
• Ability to work with youth, offering on‑the‑job training, mentorship and a welcoming environment.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of inventory and cost control.
• Understanding of health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Customer‑service orientation.
