Residential Solar Technical Advisor

About the role

Penfolds Roofing & Solar is expanding its Technical Advisory team to meet growing demand for residential solar solutions in the Lower Mainland. As a Residential Solar Technical Advisor you will combine sales expertise with technical knowledge to guide homeowners through the entire solar adoption process.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, quotations and proposals that meet customer needs and company standards.
• Conduct on‑site and virtual consultations, building trust and driving sales growth.
• Serve as the primary point of contact, addressing questions, challenges and feedback promptly.
• Manage the full sales cycle and maintain an active pipeline within the designated territory.
• Perform preliminary solar site assessments and energy consumption analyses to design customized photovoltaic systems.
• Calculate projected ROI and educate customers on federal and provincial rebates, tax incentives and financing options.
• Stay current with local building codes and BC Hydro/utility net‑billing policies to ensure compliant proposals.

Required profile

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
• Background in residential solar is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into clear client conversations.
• Reliable, consistent and able to follow through on commitments.
• Consultative mindset focused on matching customers with the right roofing and solar solutions.
• Valid BC driver’s licence.
