Residential Energy Specialist – Field Engineer

About the role

dcbel is seeking a Residential Energy Specialist to join its Revenue Team as a Field Engineer. You will enable installer channel sales by delivering on‑site technical training and support to installer partners across Canada and the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Enable installer channel sales.
• Provide on‑premise training of new installers during onboarding.
• Offer technical support during installer sales outreach.
• Deliver ad‑hoc technical assistance during demonstrations and other partner engagements.

Required profile

• Knowledge of EV charging communication protocols (ISO 15118) and DER integration protocols (IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR) is a strong plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, result‑oriented attitude and strong emotional intelligence.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively (85%+ time) across Canada and the US.

Required skills

• Hands‑on field experience supporting the sale and installation of innovative residential energy products.
• Working knowledge of Canadian and US electrical codes.
• Familiarity with PV systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and residential EV chargers.
• Understanding of IoT communication protocols.
