Research Associate

About the role

The Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology at the Jewish General Hospital is seeking a motivated Research Associate. The role supports the development of competitive research funding proposals and leads research initiatives from conception through completion.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct oncology and psychosocial research projects, including protocol development and ethics submissions.
• Develop data collection strategies, perform qualitative and quantitative analyses, and interpret findings.
• Prepare high‑value grant applications, funding proposals, and related documentation.
• Write research reports, scientific manuscripts, and conference presentations.
• Mentor and supervise Research Assistants, coordinators, and graduate students.
• Coordinate administrative tasks such as project documentation and compliance.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) in a relevant health, social science, or research field.
• Experience managing full research cycles, from design to dissemination.
• Proven ability to write successful grant applications and scholarly publications.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
